Balerno Farmers Market – Saturday 10th September

Balerno Farmers Market is on this Saturday. Come down to Main Street between 9am and 1pm to enjoy a great selection of traders. We’ll also have a demonstration beehives to see and have a go at candle making.

The magnificent Smoothie Bike will also be on Main Street. Have a go at cycling the bike to make your own smoothie. Squish the fruit as you cycle!

Community Enterprise will also be at the market on Saturday to take your views on where the community funds from Harlaw Hydro could be spent in the village. Please come and see them if you have any suggestions. Balerno Music Festival will be there selling tickets. Scot’s Music Group will be providing the entertainment and Friends of Main Street will be digging up their tatties, maybe you’ll get some!

Edward Collins Fish – fish and seafood sourced from the North Sea and North Atlantic
Harmeny Bikes –  bike repairs and sales
Harmeny Veg – locally grown vegetables
Katy Cloud Marshmallows – delicious and fluffy hand crafted gourmet marshmallows
Khleb Sourdough – Beautiful breads handmade using a sourdough leaven
Ma Roberts – authentic, natural East African sauces for cooking, dipping and spreading
New Caledonian Woodlands – homemade juices and perserves as well as handmade wooden items
Potty Perennials – a colourful variety of seasonal flower pots, plants and baskets
Scoff Foods – traditional Scottish street food and the fantastic tattie scone wraps
The Caffeine Fix – Ethically sourced flavourful coffee

Wilsons of Musselburgh – a great choice of local, seasonal fruit and vegetables

Friends of Main Street will also be gardening in the Main Street flower beds from 9am. Volunteers are always made very welcome so if you would like to help out and have a spare morning please come along on Saturday. Gardening tools are all supplied and no experience is required, just enthusiasm and a sturdy pair of shoes. Help keep your village looking blooming beautiful all year round.
