Balerno Farmers Market – Saturday 12th December
Santa’s Grotto will be open from 1030 in the community centre. Meeting Santa is by donation (we suggest around £2) and includes a wrapped gift for each child. All the money raised from this years grotto goes towards the Balerno Playpark Improvement Project, a very worthy cause which will benefit the village children for years to come.
Stallholders are plentiful as always. This Saturday come along and see Arran Cheese, Toots Sweet, Edward Collins Fish Merchant, MaRoberts, Falko Kondermeister, Potty Perennials, The Really Good Fudge Company, Monarch Venison, Cedar Country Meats, Friends of the Pentlands, Youth Vision, Harmeny Bikes, Total Swimming, Harmeny Veg, Tiphereth Trading, St Mungo’s, Dean Park Veg, Compass Playgroup, Joe Boothroyd with a range of gluten free sweet and savouries, and Meta Mackenzie knitting. The Balerno Village Trust will also be offering up delicious bacon butties and hot drinks.
Pony Rides will be taking place on Main Street (weather permitting). Some of the beautiful ponies from Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled will hopefully be joining us for the morning. Come along for a pony ride and a cuddle.
Entertainment is abundant at our last market of the year. Our most musical weekend so far. We’ll have singers from Balerno Parish Church and Dean Park Primary School as well as entertainment from Scots Music Group and the brass band of Balerno High School.
Balerno Christmas Tree Festival will be in full swing. All the tree entries will be on display in Ogston Hall and the Scout Hall. Come along and see them.
Caring Christmas Trees will be at the market for pick up on Saturday. If you pre-ordered your tree remember to come down to Main Street to select and collect yours.
See you on Main Street!
