Ravelrig RDA seek your vote to secure a vital new pick-up truck!

Riding for the Disabled Ravelrig (RDA) are in need of only five minutes of your time to vote and help them secure a vital new pick-up truck in order to continue providing riding activities for children and adults with health problems or disabilities; giving them the opportunity to ride in a safe and stimulating environment. Here is Ian Gidney, Trustee for RDA, to give you more information:

‘We have recently made a grant application for up to £25,000 to the AVIVA Community Fund in order to purchase a new pick-up truck.  Our existing pick-up truck is reaching the end of its useful life, and can no longer be safely used for towing a horsebox.

A pick-up truck vehicle is essential for the efficient care of our horses and management of the stables and is our “work horse”!  It is used on a daily basis in the running of Ravelrig RDA.  It is absolutely vital for our efficiency, safety and economy.

Ravelrig RDA is managed by 8 Trustees and currently employs no staff.  Our latest annual running costs for the care of our 9 horses are approximately £60k which we cover by fundraising.  To raise £25k of additional funds for a new vehicle as part of our annual fundraising campaign would add a severe challenge to our hard working volunteering force.

We feel our application is strong, and meets the AVIVA objectives but to get our application assessed, we need your help in voting for our application! To register your online vote (You have 10 votes per email) via the AVIVA Community Fund official site, click here:

We have over 3000 votes so far and wish to double this by the closing date. Whether or not our application is considered depends entirely on how many votes the application has received by the deadline, 31 May 2015.

The young volunteers at RDA have also made a campaign video which demonstrates first hand the importance of securing the new truck..

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and we have our fingers crossed that RDA secures your votes and the funding! Watch this space for an update.
