Balerno Farmers Market will be back taking place on Saturday 13th February – this is our first market of the year. Outdoor markets are classed as essential retail under the rules of the current lockdown so we’re still open but we need all our customers to follow the rules from the Scottish government – there have been a few changes.
Just like supermarkets we need you to social distance, wear a mask (this is now advised in outdoor areas which are busier than normal) and shop alone where possible. For the moment we need to ask you to treat the Market as a place to do your shopping, not a social event.
We have our ‘Good to Go Covid’ certficate and will be operating a one-way system with hand sanitizer at the entrance and on every stall. There will be staff at the entrance and exit, and we will be limiting the number of people into the market area if it gets busy. Please consider coming early or late to avoid having to queue – our quiet periods are usually 9-10am and 12 – 1pm. During the busier periods please expect to queue to get into the Market.
Our staff will be asking everyone to follow the rules. Please respect us and the rules. We want to give people a shop local option and believe outdoors is a much safer way to achieve this but we can only do it with your help.
