The Scarecrows are here! Below are our entrants for 2020. Vote on our Facebook Page from Sunday 24th to 8pm on Saturday 30th May or email your vote by describing which scarecrow you’d like to vote for to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is it?
This year we still want to hold the Scarecrow Competition but we cannot supply straw, so we are asking Balerno residents to get their creative brains working on a scarecrow made from recycled materials! There are some great examples online. You can use whatever you like, but you need to display your scarecrow in either your home (it would great if it could be seen from a window) or garden, take a photo and email it to us, details below.
We will not be producing a trail map this year but keep an eye out if you’re on your daily exercise and see if you can spot any ‘additional’ residents!
Entries last year included penguins, minions and Ironman so it’s time to get your thinking caps on and unleash your creativity – below are last year’s winners to give you some ideas!
Deadline: Photographs have to be received via email to email@example.com by noon on Saturday 23rd May. Please email with a note of your name, address and contact number. Please let us know if you are happy to be added to our mailing list. We will confirm receipt of your email within 24 hours. If you don’t receive an email please call Val on 07505 134506 to check receipt.
Sunday 24th May – 8pm Saturday 30th May voting: We will be asking all of you to vote for your favourite, either by ‘liking’ the photos on our Facebook page or via an email vote (send to firstname.lastname@example.org). The photos will also be displayed here on this web page.
Sunday 31st May: The winner will be announced on the Farmers’ Market Facebook page and on this website. Prizes include a specially commissioned trophy kindly donated by Harmonies in Wood, sweeties and certificates.
You must be a resident of Balerno to enter.
Photographs have to be received via email to email@example.com by noon on Saturday 23rd May. All emails will be acknowledged, Balerno Village Trust are not responsible for incorrect details received or emails not received within the timescale on the entry conditions.
